FAQ
Questions traders ask first
Can I use them on a prop firm evaluation or funded account?
It depends on the firm, and firms change their rules. Many restrict or ban automated strategies, some restrict trading in the overnight session, and some limit particular trading patterns. Read your firm's current rules or ask them before you run any strategy on their account. We can't promise that any firm allows them. Each strategy's page has a prop account check: its research backtest replayed on one common set of evaluation rules at the size you pick. It's hypothetical, your firm's rules may differ, and it's no promise that a strategy will pass an evaluation.
Which markets do they trade?
Nasdaq-100 futures only. Breakout, Trend and Overnight run on NQ or MNQ. Select and Momentum are sold for MNQ only. Each strategy's page explains why.
How often do they trade?
About once a week each, by design: they're patient, set-and-forget strategies that wait for their setup. Some weeks have no trades at all. If you want constant action, these aren't the right tools.
Do they use a stop-loss?
It depends on the strategy. Breakout sends a stop-loss and a profit target with every trade, and Select sends a stop-loss with every entry. Trend and Momentum send no stop at entry unless you set one in the settings, and Overnight sends only a disaster stop far from the market. Where there's no stop near the market, the loss on one trade isn't capped at a set amount. Each page lists the worst trade and worst day from testing.
Do any of them hold positions overnight?
Only Bell to Bell Overnight. It trades the overnight session, holds through the night and is flat before the 9:30 ET open. The other four trade only during US regular hours and are flat by the end of the regular session. None holds a position over a weekend.
What hours does my computer need to be on?
NinjaTrader must be running and connected whenever a strategy can trade. For the four regular-hours strategies, that's from before the 9:30 ET open until the regular session ends, on trading days. For Bell to Bell Overnight, it's through the night until the next morning. A virtual private server (VPS) works too.
Is it really set and forget?
Once it's on, there's no sitting and clicking: it waits, takes its trade, exits by its rules and goes flat on its own. Set and forget doesn't mean unattended, though. It only trades while NinjaTrader is open and connected, so run it on a computer or VPS that stays on, and check on it each day. Connection loss, platform errors and fast markets are real risks for any automated strategy.
Which platform and data do I need?
NinjaTrader 8, version 8.1.5 or later. The NinjaTrader platform and simulator are free to download and use, with no deposit required, and NinjaTrader's free trial includes 14 days of real-time data. After that you need a real-time CME data feed, for example through Kinetick or your futures broker. Kinetick's free end-of-day connection provides daily history only, which isn't enough to run a strategy. The NinjaTrader page has more.
Bell to Bell Select also needs NinjaTrader's Order Flow+, which comes with a NinjaTrader Lifetime license and is a paid add-on with the Free and Monthly plans.
Can I run more than one strategy?
Yes, but all five trade NQ or MNQ, so on one account their positions can stack or offset, and your risk is the sum of all of them. Running each on its own account, or its own Sim account, keeps them apart. See Strategies.
How does licensing work?
Checkout on Whop issues a license key, which you paste into the strategy's settings once. It works on up to two computers, for example a home PC and a VPS: it binds to the first two computers it runs on, and you can move it to a new computer from your Whop account. The strategy checks the key when it starts, so it needs an internet connection then. If the license isn't active, the strategy loads but doesn't trade.
Can you tell me how many contracts to trade, or whether it suits my account?
No. We sell software, not advice, and we can't tell you what or how much to trade. We don't manage accounts, connect to customer accounts or place trades for anyone. Position size and risk are your decisions, and a licensed professional can help with those.
Is the source code included? Are the rules published?
No to both. Every strategy ships as a protected, compiled NinjaTrader add-on, and the exact rules are proprietary. How it works and each strategy's page set out everything that affects your risk: the markets, the hours a position can be held, how each one exits, the one-position limit, and the hypothetical results with their weak spots.
Can I change the settings?
Yes, within limits. Depending on the strategy, you choose the preset, the number of contracts, the direction, a risk limit, and which alerts and logs you get. The signal logic itself is fixed.
Will my results match the backtest?
Don't expect them to. Real fills, data differences, commissions, slippage, missed days and changing markets all move results, and past results, actual or hypothetical, don't predict future ones. Run a strategy on Sim long enough to see several trades before you consider a live account.
Can I get a refund?
Monthly plans can be cancelled any time, and access runs to the end of the period you paid for. A purchase is refunded in full within 7 days if its license key was never activated. The refund policy has the details.
Is this made or endorsed by NinjaTrader?
No. Bell to Bell Strategies is an independent developer whose products run on NinjaTrader 8. NinjaTrader isn't affiliated with Bell to Bell Strategies and doesn't endorse its products.
